Welcome to West Highland Lodge — your mountain-top hideaway with some of the best views in Kinlochleven. Sitting in an elevated spot overlooking the village, the River Leven, and the Mamore mountains, it’s the perfect base for groups, families, and West Highland Way adventurers.
We can host up to 32 guests, and you can book individual rooms or take over the whole lodge for exclusive use — ideal for big get-togethers, walking groups, events, or anyone wanting their own private mountain HQ.
There’s limited parking beside the lodge for quick luggage drop-off, and overnight parking just 100 metres away. If you’re arriving on foot, follow the footpath straight down into the village — it’s only a 5-minute walk to the centre where you’ll find shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants.
Kinlochleven is a brilliant stopover for West Highland Way walkers, and a great base for exploring the Scottish Highlands. We’re only 7 miles off the A82, making day trips to Glencoe, Fort William, Glenfinnan, Mallaig, Oban, Skye and Inverness super easy.
Whether you’re passing through or planning a longer break, there’s loads to do — hiking, climbing, biking, scenic trails, and endless mountain views.

The West Highland Lodge is situated in an elevated position with fantastic views to the Mamore mountains. Overlooking the village of Kinlochleven and the River Leven. There is ample free car parking for guests right next to the Lodge. Or if travelling on foot take the footpath down to the village. It’s around a 5 minute walk to the centre with the shops, pubs and restaurants all on offer.
Kinlochleven makes an ideal stopover for those passing through while walking the West Highland Way or for those touring the Scottish Highlands. It’s just 7 miles off the A82 making it easily accessible to popular tourist destinations such as Glencoe, Mallaig, Fort William, Glenfinnan, Oban, Inverness & Skye. West Highland Lodge
The West Highland Lodge is positioned overlooking the village of Kinlochleven just a short 100metre walk from the village centre and the west highland way. Heated by a modern electric heating system and double glazed throughout, ensuring all rooms are warm and cozy. Just what is needed after a wild day on the hills. The Lodge has 8 private rooms with shared bathroom facilities. Soap, shampoo and shower gel is included. Each room is fitted with comfortable bunk beds. All bookings are for sole occupancy rooms with discounts for sole travellers.
There is a fully equipped self catering kitchen, dining area and comfy TV room for all guests and free WIFI throughout. Guests can make the most of the panoramic views over the mountains and village in the outdoor picnic area to the front of the hostel. Other facilities include a commercial drying room for those wetter days . For those travelling by bike there is a secure bike lockup, please contact reception for details. Our hostel is also dog friendly and operates a self check in process.
Our Other Accommodation
10 private en-suite rooms of various sizes. Each room has central heating, double glazing, TV, comfortable bunk beds. Other facilities include drying rooms, communal kitchen & dining area plus free WIFI. Only 200m from village centre.
The Glamping Pods are ideally positioned with many overlooking the River Leven. A great alternative to camping. We have 12, all season pods sleeping from 2-4 people. Each pod offers luxuries such as electric lights & sockets, free wifi, TV, microwave, fridge and kettle, electric heater/fan, storage & midge screens.
Many of our guests tell us it’s, “The best equipped campsite along the West Highland Way”. Just 2o0m from the village centre. Great base for walkers. Camping guests have the use of the following facilities: free WIFI, shower/toilet block, charging points, drying rooms & covered pot wash area.
