The Blackwater Campsite is situated adjacent to the Blackwater Hostel overlooking the River Leven. It is ideal for those walking the West Highland Way as it is the first campsite you come to as you walk down into the village from Glencoe. Many of our guests tell us it’s, “The best equipped site along the West Highland Way”.
The camping ground is ideally located for those with tired legs as it is right in the centre of the village. Just a few minutes walk to the supermarket, pubs, fish & chip shop and post office. The Ice Factor is right next door to us which also has a good shop with basic camping supplies.
Staying at the Campsite
The campsite itself has 30 camping pitches with a maximum of 2 man tents allowed, larger tents are not permitted on the campsite. Following the feedback from many of our guests, we are now taking bookings for camping online via our website. Any campers wishing to ensure they have a pitch in advance you can now do so but don’t worry if you have not reserved a spot as you can still check in on the day, as we will always have space.
Our camping guests have the use of the following facilities:
- free WIFI
- unlimited showers in our newly renovated shower block with plenty showers to go around for all (hand soap, shower gel & shampoo provided) toilets
- power points to charge mobile phones
- two drying rooms with commercial dehumidifiers to ensure all your wet gear will be nice and dry for you in the morning plus
- a covered seating & pot wash area.
Please note that there are no cooking facilities on the campsite but the use of small camping stoves is allowed. Dogs are allowed also but must be kept on lead at all times.
Our Other Accommodation
Our hostel can accommodate up to 39 guests between 10 private en-suite rooms of various sizes. Each room has central heating, double glazing, TV, comfortable bunk beds with bed linens included. Other facilities include drying rooms, communal kitchen & dining area plus free WIFI. Only 200metres from village centre.
Overlooking the village of Kinlochleven, our lodge has recently been renovated with new heating system & double glazing. Sleeps up to 32 guests between 8 private rooms. Comfortable bunk beds with bed linens included. Communal showers/toilets, kitchen, lounge & dining area & drying rooms. Free WIFI.
The Glamping Pods are ideally positioned with many overlooking the River Leven. A great alternative to camping. We have 12, all season pods sleeping from 2-4 people. Each pod offers luxuries such as electric lights & sockets, free wifi, TV, microwave, fridge and kettle, electric heater/fan, storage & midge screens.
